We have an adorable pair of Dark-eyed Juncos that come to our bird-bath and they always put a big smile on my face.
This female Golden Orbweaver, (Argiope aurantia), is wrapping up the left over grasshopper she had for dinner. The males’ death is triggered by the mating process. She will lay egg sacks with up to 1,200 yellowish eggs in them, She will die in late fall and her off spring will overwinter in the egg sacks and hatch out in spring.
But then he realized he has to be an adorable puppy all weekend long too. Sigh!
