Jude Hill's "Spirit Cloth 101" Class & The Postcard Project

I am taking Jude Hill's "Spirit Cloth 101" class and I LOVE it. It is so jam packed with wonderful information. Here is a piece I am working on for the class. You can find out more about Jude's classes on her website at this link: Spirit Cloth

"Glue stitching" the background down

Adding more layers with cloth and stitch. I painted the little boy in the robe (after Picasso's Child with Dove) in oils pastel on harem cloth and heat set it with an iron

Still a work in progress the name of this piece is called "Love Letter For Liam"

Another small project I did was a postcard I stitched to help save a small Post Office in Rupert, VT that was in danger of being closed due to not enough mail volume. The post office is owned by fellow Vermont artist Jane Davies. You can find out more about the project on Jane Davies blog: The Post Office Project  You can view all of the post cards, which as of today are still arriving, at this link: View the Postcards

  1. nice to see what you are working on...thanks for the kind words!

    1. Hi Jude, Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment! We have been busy building a house in the woods of Vermont and are moving in next week so I had to put the class on hold but I can't wait to get back to it. I am so glad there is not a time restriction on it. I adore your work and I think you were very generous with all the videos and instructions in the class, I was very pleasantly surprised. I can't recommend it enough to others. Would love to have you come to Southern Vermont to give a workshop someday. The "Love Letter for Liam" piece above was the first piece I worked on for the class and ended up facilitating a huge emotional breakthrough for me. I am so in love with your method of creating "Spirit Cloth" and I can't wait to have life settle down a bit after I move so I can delve into it even more deeply.
      Blessings and Light,

  2. Linda...I recently found (gratefully!) your blog thru Jude Hill's work. I so love the Picasso Boy with Dove item that you were working on. How precious!
    Blessings to you, Sue

    1. Thanks for stopping by Sue! I haven't done ay stitching in a long while. Maybe your comment will inspire me to get started again.
