For the last few days I have been experimenting with rust dyeing on a cotton/linen blend. I soaked the fabric in vinegar and wrapped it up with rusty objects. For 3 days I wrapped and unwrapped objects and here are the results. I soaked it in salt water when it was don as I have read that will stabilize the rust although this is by no means an archival process.
